Coughlin Commons – Another Adult 55+ Condo Community in Kingston MA
Like Arbor Hills, Coughlin Commons is a condominium development in Kingston Massachusetts for active adults aged 55+. Beyond that however, there are some notable differences between these two neighborhood communities. Significantly, at Coughlin Commons, only one resident in the home must be 55 years of age or older. At Arbor Hills, by contrast, all residents of the home are age restricted to 55+.
A second notable distinction is apparent by the size as well as by the design and layout of the Coughlin Commons complex in comparison to the Arbor Hills neighborhood. Tucked away in a secluded setting, Coughlin Commons is an intimate complex consisting of six townhouse condominiums in all. There are two units in each of the three duplex-style buildings. These buildings are arranged in a sort of lop-sided triangle around a circular drive with a gazebo in the center island.
Coughlin Commons was constructed in 2004. Currently, there is one unit for sale and it’s a rare occurrence as this is the first time that a condo in this complex has become available since originally built and marketed.
A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Open House at the unit that’s presently on the market. In these condos, the common wall at the ground level between the two units is the one-car attached garage and on the second floor, the common wall is in an unfinished bonus room over the garage. So while the condos are attached, the structural arrangement affords the occupants a certain degree of privacy.
All the condo units at Coughlin Commons have 3 bedrooms with 2 full and one half bath. Other amenities include a full basement, an open floor plan – living room w/gas fireplace, kitchen and separate dining area, w/ first floor master suite. On the second floor, there are 2 bedrooms and a full bath w/tub and shower, a loft/sitting area and the bonus room. The unit I visited was bright and attractive.
The complex is nicely landscaped and appears to be well maintained. However, as I noted in my blog post on Arbor Hills, condo living may not appeal to everyone. The conveniences one enjoys on the one hand are offset by certain restrictions and limited privacy on the other.
Coughlin Commons is located at the corner of Brook and Elm Streets, a location that is near to town, the post office, the library, shopping, banks, restaurants and the highway. As well, across Elm Street at Coughlin Commons is Sampson Park with miles of walking trails and an area that overlooks the Jones River.
As you can see, Coughlin Commons has much to offer the 55+ home buyer. If interested in homes for sale in Coughlin Commons or Arbor Hills homes, please give me a call or contact me online with questions or to arrange a private showing. As always, thank you for visiting my blog.
